Mandalas have long been used, in many cultures, for the purpose of healing and as tools for meditation. Their concentric, geometric designs represent layers of human awareness and they help us to reach higher states of consciousness. So working with mandalas can form a bridge to universal Truth and can help us to connect to universal Love.

Each part or ring of the mandala is related to and gives support to all of the other parts; yet each can stand alone as one aspect of the journey of life. Thus, both the microcosm and the macrocosm of human experience are represented. The more integrated into the whole we become, the more capacity there can be for growth and change. Working with mandalas can show us a way of flowing through life with more openness and awareness.

Symbolically, as we move from the edge of the mandala toward its center, we are consciously becoming more centered and are following a path to our own centers as well.
